Job summary

GlobalLogic Sweden invites Embedded Software engineers to contribute to an automotive project in Gothenburg, Sweden. This role focuses on designing and maintaining embedded software in C++ for automotive systems, collaborating with architects, system engineers, and cross-functional teams.

You will work on requirements analysis, software architecture decisions, and production-ready code while following industry standards and agile practices.

Qualifications

• B.S in Computer Science or M.S in Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• Strong background of system design, implementation, testing and maintenance in C/C++.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN).
• Experience embedded software development in Automotive domain (Linux, QNX).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in modern C++ for automotive systems.
• Analyze requirements and translate into robust, scalable software solutions.
• Collaborate with software architects, developers, and system engineers to define end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions considering performance and reliability.
• Lead technical discussions and align with cross-functional teams on engineering approaches.
• Develop production-ready C++ software following coding standards and best practices.
• Take ownership of tasks and deliverables with quality and timelines.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues across software stack including concurrency and memory management.
• Document designs, decisions, and key implementation choices for traceability.
• Mentor other developers and promote best practices in modern C++.

Our clients are Tier 1s and OEMs from Europe and USA and development is targeted to Automotive Solution what will be deployed in newest European cars.

Requirements

B.S in Computer Science or M.S in Computer Engineering or similar qualifications from an accredited university

• Strong background of system design, implementation, testing and maintenance C/C++
• Experience working with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
• Experience in Embedded software development in Automotive domain (Linux, QNX)
• Experience with industry standard requirements and agile development tools such as JIRA, Git/gerrit, Confluence
• Experience in working with cross functional teams
• Practical debugging skills
• Strong communication skills
• Must be able to work full time onsite in Gothenburg area

Will be a plus

• Experience in fault detection, fault handling and automotive diagnostics
• Common understanding of ISO 26262
• Experience creating safety-critical software (ISO 26262, ASIL B)
• Test automation experience using Python/Robot Framework
• Experience with Automotive standards

• Contribute to software architecture and design decisions, considering performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and resource constraints.
• Lead technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on technical solutions and engineering approaches.
• Develop high-quality, production-ready C++ software following established coding standards, design principles, and software development practices.
• Take ownership of assigned technical tasks and deliverables, ensuring execution according to agreed plans, quality standards, and timelines.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, including problems involving concurrency, memory management, performance, system integration, and resource constraints.
• Apply strong knowledge of C++ and embedded software development to troubleshoot and resolve issues across different levels of the software stack.
• Collaborate with teams across software development, systems engineering, testing, and other engineering functions to ensure successful integration and delivery.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and provide technical guidance and mentoring to other developers and technical specialists.
• Document technical designs, architectural decisions, assumptions, and key implementation choices to ensure traceability and maintainability.
• Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement of software architecture, development processes, coding practices, testing strategies, and engineering tools.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in modern C++, object-oriented design, clean code, and software quality.
