Job summary

Randstad Digital is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to design, integrate and debug software for smart embedded systems and connectivity modules across the full development lifecycle. This long-term consultant assignment places you in a collaborative team driving innovative IoT/mobile solutions.

You will work on resource-constrained systems with small memory footprints and low power needs, using C++ on RTOS such as FreeRTOS, while applying DevSecOps practices in an agile SAFe

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of embedded software experience, preferably within IoT products.
• Hands-on experience with embedded IoT networking protocols such as CoAP, MQTT, REST, or V2X (DSRC/c-V2X).
• Experience with C++ programming using RTOS platforms (e.g., FreeRTOS).
• Proven ability to develop efficient code for resource-constrained systems (small memory footprint, low power requirements).
• Solid experience in sub-system/peripheral integration and hardware debugging (using JTAG or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with Bluetooth/BLE, NB‑IoT, LTE‑M, or other cellular technologies
• Experience leveraging DevSecOps practices and techniques (threat modeling, automated security testing, CI/CD, communication and collaboration) in an agile (SAFe) environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborating within cross-functional agile teams using SAFe across embedded real-time systems, user interfaces, hardware evaluation, and cloud/app interactions.
• Developing optimized and efficient code tailored for resource-constrained systems with small memory footprints and low power limits.
• Implementing and integrating communication protocols across CAN-bus, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and cellular technologies.
• Applying DevSecOps practices, threat modeling, automated security testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and quality-assured software deliveries.
• Participating in creative and innovative initiatives to advance algorithms, machine learning integrations, and embedded product capabilities.
• Taking full ownership of assignments, solving complex technical challenges, and sharing knowledge with team members

To Succeed In This Role, You Must Have
