Job summary

Sigma Industry is seeking an Electronics Hardware Developer in Västerås to design, develop and implement analog and digital circuits from concept to serial production for ABB’s softstarter and contactor lines.

The role requires an M.Sc. or B.Sc in Electronic Engineering, at least 2 years in industrial electronics, and strong circuit design skills. Travel (~5%) and English fluency are essential; Swedish is a plus. On-site placement in Västerås, Sweden.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or B.Sc degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems or comparable field.
• At least 2 years of experience in development of industrial electronics within embedded systems as a hardware design engineer.
• Sound knowledge in designing electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, and working with simulation tools.
• Knowledge in EMC compatible design would be considered a plus.
• Experience in testing and validation of prototypes in a laboratory.
• Proven experience in working with voltage levels up to 1kV would be considered a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally (~5%).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; Swedish language skills are beneficial but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement analog and digital circuits from concept to serial production for ABB’s softstarter and contactor lines.
• Coordinate hardware development activities with suppliers and other functions (product management & factory).
• Create schematics and set constraints for PCB layout; define verification specs and perform verification via simulation and prototype testing; document and hand over technologies to ABB factories.
