Job summary

Piab is seeking an Embedded Developer to design, implement, and maintain embedded software for Cortex‑M based products. You will ensure robust HW/SW integration and contribute to tooling and testing workflows.

Ideal candidates bring Embedded C proficiency, RTOS experience (FreeRTOS), Git and Jira usage, plus strong problem‑solving skills and teamwork. English fluency is required; Swedish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Embedded C for Cortex‑M architectures.
• RTOS experience with FreeRTOS or similar.
• Version control with Git and issue tracking with Jira.
• Debugging and testing embedded systems.
• Hardware/software integration and documentation in English.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for Cortex‑M based products.
• Develop and maintain support tooling (Python) to improve workflows.
• Integrate and validate communication protocols (BLE, IO‑Link, PROFINET, industrial buses).
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning (Jira, Git).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for HW/SW integration.
• Debug and resolve issues across hardware and software layers.
• Document software design and user guides in English.
• Contribute to development process and toolchain improvements.
• Support production and field teams with troubleshooting and expertise.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
