Job summary

International M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join a major data centre project in Gävle, Sweden. You will manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and cost reporting while maintaining strong commercial control.

Responsibilities include preparing budgets, interim valuations, final accounts and cost reporting, with a 3/1 rotation, accommodation, flights and a 25-day annual leave package.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience on electrical projects.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and cost reporting.
• Strong understanding of commercial management within electrical construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, commercial reports, BOQs and profit plans.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly applications and maintain accurate commercial records.
• Cost and agree variations, site changes and dayworks.
• Monitor project costs and identify potential commercial risks.
• Attend commercial meetings with the client and internal project team.
• Negotiate commercial matters with clients and their representatives.

The Company
This international M&E contractor delivers major engineering projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a significant pipeline of work in the European data centre sector.
They are looking for an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre project in Gävle, Sweden, with further opportunities available across their European project pipeline.
The Role: Electrical Quantity Surveyor
As Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial and contractual management of electrical packages on a major data centre project in Gävle.
Working closely with the commercial team, Project Manager and construction teams, you will manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, cost reporting and change while maintaining strong commercial control throughout project delivery.
Must Have Requirements

• Must have 4+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience on electrical projects.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline required.
• Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and commercial reporting required.
• Strong understanding of commercial management within electrical construction required.

Preferred Experience

• Data centre project experience preferred.
• Previous experience on major electrical construction projects beneficial.
• Technical background as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer advantageous.
• European construction experience beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, commercial reports, BOQs and profit plans.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly applications and maintain accurate commercial records.
• Cost and agree variations, site changes and dayworks.
• Monitor project costs and identify potential commercial risks.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure accurate progress and cost reporting.
• Manage subcontractor remeasurement and change orders.
• Attend commercial meetings with the client and internal project team.
• Negotiate commercial matters with clients and their representatives.
• Maintain detailed records to support commercial tracking and project costing.
• Support the project through to final account and commercial close-out.

About You
You will be an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor with a strong understanding of commercial management within electrical contracting.
You should be comfortable managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and cost reporting while working closely with project and construction teams. Previous data centre experience would be particularly relevant for the Gävle project.
