Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps/SRE Specialist to join one of the largest software development companies in Gothenburg. The role focuses on accelerating automation, eliminating manual workload, and building self-service IaC from the ground up.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CI/CD, Terraform/Terragrunt, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and secure Secrets management in hybrid environments including on-prem and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps/SRE experience with automation focus.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and IaC from scratch.
• Strong Ansible skills: write custom roles and playbooks for Linux.
• Proficient with Terraform/Terragrunt for provisioning and modular code.
• Experience with VM/Bare Metal and on-prem environments (RHEL).
• Cloud/Container tech: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Self-hosted secrets management: Vault or OpenBao.
• Solid scripting: Python and Bash.
• Fluent English and Swedish (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Drive End-to-End Automation to reduce manual tasks across infra and apps.
• Architect, build, maintain reusable Terraform modules and Ansible automation.
• Create production-grade Ansible Roles for OS configuration and env mgmt.
• Design robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for automation and deployments.
• Implement and maintain self-hosted Secrets Vault (HashiCorp Vault/OpenBao).
• Support platforms spanning Classic VMs, Bare Metal, RHEL, and containers.

The core platform relies on a hybrid setup combining Classic VM / Bare Metal infrastructure with modern cloud and container platforms. Your primary mission in this role will be to accelerate automation, eliminate manual operational workload, and build self‑service Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions from the ground up.

Requirements

• 5+ years of practical, hands‑on DevOps / SRE experience with a heavy focus on driving operational automation.
• Demonstrated experience building CI/CD pipelines and IaC setups completely from scratch (not just maintaining existing templates).
• Strong hands‑on proficiency with Ansible: Proven ability to write custom Ansible Roles and Playbooks from scratch for Linux system administration.
• Solid experience with Terraform / Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning and modular code design.
• Experience in Classic VM / Bare Metal / On‑Premise environments (RHEL / RPM‑based deployments, VMware, or Linux hypervisors).
• Experience with Cloud & Container technologies: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Secrets Management: Hands‑on experience or strong capability to implement self‑hosted HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao.
• Strong scripting skills: Python and Bash.
• Languages: Advanced/Fluent English and Swedish (both written and verbal).

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with GitOps practices and tools (ArgoCD, Helm).
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
• Experience in high‑availability, safety‑critical, or high‑concurrency enterprise environments.

Job responsibilities

• Drive End‑to‑End Automation: Accelerate platform automation to eliminate repetitive manual operational tasks across infrastructure and application environments.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect, build, and maintain reusable Terraform modules and Ansible automation for platform provisioning and OS configuration.
• Build Ansible Roles from Scratch: Write custom, production‑grade Ansible Playbooks and Roles for Linux/RHEL system configuration and environment management.
• CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for infrastructure automation, code quality, and automated deployments.
• Secrets Management: Implement, configure, and maintain a self‑hosted Secrets Vault (HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao) from the ground up.
• Hybrid Operations & Monitoring: Support, troubleshoot, and optimize platforms running across Classic VMs, Bare Metal, RHEL, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering, security, and product teams; participate in periodic standby/on‑call rotation for platform stability.
