Job summary

Spotify is seeking a skilled Desktop C++ engineer to contribute to and maintain the native layer of the Spotify Desktop app across macOS and Windows. You will develop container capabilities enabling UI teams to build new experiences and work with partner platforms.

You will improve CI, packaging, and delivery, while supporting content delivery services and release tooling. The role involves collaboration across a distributed team and learning new technologies within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ development skills and experience with production software with a large user base.
• Experience navigating complex codebases spanning multiple languages, technologies and systems.
• Ability to take ownership of systems through development, maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Enjoy solving complex technical problems and working through ambiguity to practical solutions.
• Curious about learning new technologies, platforms and areas of the codebase.
• Collaborate effectively across teams and communicate thinking clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and maintain Spotify’s Desktop C++ application across macOS and Windows.
• Develop native container capabilities to enable UI teams to build new experiences.
• Improve platform systems, CI configurations, build pipelines, packaging and delivery.
• Develop and maintain backend services supporting content delivery, update infrastructure, and release tooling.
• Build and improve OS integrations, including features connecting Spotify with partner platforms.
• Collaborate with external partners such as Microsoft to leverage platform capabilities.
• Contribute to AI agent integration explorations within the Desktop experience.
• Work with a distributed group of engineers to solve cross-system problems.
