Johnson Controls Global Marine & Navy is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team in Norrköping. As a global leader in marine refrigeration, we specialize in the design, manufacture, and service of complete refrigeration systems for Marine and Cruise applications. About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical CAD Chiller Design Engineer to enhance our engineering team. In this role, you will design, model, and detail mechanical systems and components for industrial chillers, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to create efficient and reliable solutions that meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

Our open‑minded culture fosters both international success and strong local team spirit. You will report directly to the Manager based in Norrköping, with weekly status meetings and close team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for chiller components, including piping layouts, frames, sheet metal panels, compressor mounts, heat exchangers, and related assemblies, using Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to define design requirements and ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Interpret customer specifications, industry standards, and internal requirements to guide design decisions.
  • Develop solutions for both retrofit service and newbuild projects in close cooperation with the design team.
  • Provide technical sales support, initially in specific areas, expanding as your expertise grows alongside our sales application engineers.
  • Support prototype builds and testing by delivering accurate CAD data and technical documentation.
  • Revise designs based on test results, field feedback, and customer requirements.
  • Stay informed about advancements in chiller technology, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in design and quality review meetings.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with advanced CAD skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems (Please clearly indicate in your CV whether you have previous experience working with refrigeration systems or not.)
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, international matrix organization.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; credible and convincing in interactions with customers, partners, and colleagues.
