Job description

Help build the energy autopilot for industries—and make European industry global winners in the new energy system.

We're looking for a Data Engineer to help shape and scale Skye's data platform — the foundation that powers forecasting, optimization, and insights across our energy products.

You'll own everything from data pipelines to transformations and feature engineering, working closely with product and ML engineers to turn raw telemetry into actionable intelligence.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-moving, VC-backed startup and make a significant impact on the product, culture, and business. We are now looking for exceptional talents to join our mission to make European industry global winners in the new energy system.

What we're building

Skye is building the energy autopilot for industries.

Our platform connects industrial assets to energy markets — optimizing electricity use, providing balancing services (FCR/FRR), and automating trading.

To make that possible, we process large volumes of telemetry and market data in real time.

Our data stack powers:

  • Real-time analytics and monitoring of industrial assets
  • Forecasting and optimization models for power flexibility
  • Automated market operations and insights for customers
What you'll do
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines in Redshift and our broader AWS data ecosystem.
  • Work across all data layers — from raw telemetry ingestion to cleaned, governed, and feature-rich datasets.
  • Own the transformation logic that powers forecasting, anomaly detection, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with product and ML engineers to enable data-driven decisions and automation.
  • Ensure high data quality, observability, and governance across the data lake and warehouse.
  • Continuously improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in our data stack.
You might be a fit if
  • You've built or maintained data pipelines in modern data stacks (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).
  • You care about clean, reliable, and observable data.
  • You're comfortable owning end-to-end flows — from ingestion to consumption.
  • You love working in fast-moving environments and wearing multiple hats.
  • You're curious about how industrial systems and energy markets connect through data.
  • You want to join a team that works together, meets in office every day and solves hard and fun problems.
  • Build the data platform that drives Europe's industrial energy transition.
  • Work on meaningful problems at the intersection of energy, data, and automation.
  • Join early — with ownership, autonomy, and equity upside.
  • Collaborate with a small, highly technical team solving real-world challenges.
Plug into the future. Let's shape it together.
