Job summary

Vimian Group is expanding its data platform to become an AI-enabled enterprise platform across 17 countries and four segments. You will own end-to-end data onboarding, contract design, and BI-driven insights that power Group Management, Finance and operations.

Based in Stockholm, you will work on a platform used group-wide, with exposure to leadership and a fast-growing environment. English is the working language, Swedish is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science or similar.
• 5+ years in data engineering, BI development or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python (Spark/PySpark) and SQL, familiar with Parquet and lakehouse patterns.
• Hands-on with the Azure data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric) and Power BI/Power Platform.
• Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL) and data warehouse design.

Responsibilities

• Onboard every new acquisition onto the platform and extend ingestion connectors (Business Central, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Design and implement data contracts and data lineage for shared data across segments.
• Turn raw data into insight with models and Power BI outputs for Group Management, Finance and operations.
• Define KPIs so a single meaning applies across the group.
• Bring AI into the platform with agentic tooling and governed access.
• Maintain core reliability to support group financials during close, with specialist support.

Help turn a group data warehouse into an AI platform, and grow with it.

Most data engineering jobs are maintenance with a nicer title. This one isn't. Vimian already runs a group-wide data platform across 17 countries, loading around 1,580 tables a day, and it is now being rebuilt into the insight and AI platform the whole group works from. You join at the moment that matters: a team small enough that you own real surface area, and a plan ambitious enough that what you build gets used everywhere.

About the role

You bring new companies onto the platform as Vimian acquires them, design the contracts and models that let four business segments trust the same data, and help bring "talk to your data" to life. Because we keep specialist support in place through the transition, you build the future rather than firefight the present.

• You build, you don't babysit. Real engineering: new-source onboarding, versioned data contracts, models that segments actually consume.
• Your work ships to the whole group. 17 countries, four segments, every acquisition. What you build has reach from day one.
• You work AI-native, for real. Agentic tooling in your daily flow, and a hand in making group data conversational.
• You grow fast. Direct line to the platform lead, exposure to Group Management and Finance, and a platform expanding under your feet.

What you'll do

• Onboard every new acquisition onto the platform. The ingestion layer already speaks Business Central, Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, Visma, Xero and more, and you keep extending it.
• Design and implement the data contracts and lineage that let segments build on shared data without breaking each other.
• Turn raw data into insight: build the models and Power BI outputs that answer real business questions for Group Management, Finance and operations.
• Make definitions mean one thing, so a KPI means the same across the group.
• Bring AI into the platform: use agentic tooling to move faster, and help stand up governed "talk to your data" access.
• Keep the core dependable. The platform delivers group financials during reporting close, and you help make in-house ownership rock-solid, with retained specialist support alongside you through the transition.

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science or similar.
• 5+ years in data engineering, BI development or software engineering.
• Python (Spark/PySpark) and strong SQL, comfortable with Parquet and lakehouse patterns.
• Hands-on with the Azure data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, keen on Fabric) and Power BI / Power Platform.
• Confident with APIs (REST, GraphQL, web services): integration, development, troubleshooting.
• Experience designing data warehouses and ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Working knowledge of ERP and financial accounting data. You understand what you're moving, not just how.
• Structured and dependable, with the integrity to flag when a shortcut threatens the platform.
• Genuinely curious about AI tooling. You want to work in an agentic-native team, not around one.
