Kivra AB in Stockholm is seeking a Data Engineer to build and evolve a modern, cloud-based data platform used by analysts and engineers across the company.
You will own platform tooling, automation, and data access, enabling safe AI-enabled workflows while ensuring GDPR compliance and robust security.
Join a team with autonomy over end-to-end solutions and a strong emphasis on everything-as-code, in a hybrid work setting in Stockholm.
At Kivra, we are building services that connect 6 million people, by providing a safe and accessible digital infrastructure that everyone in Sweden can trust and use. At the same time, we are saving trees - reducing the paper that is printed and transported - by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.
We have a modern, cloud-based data platform, which you will build upon and improve with other engineers in the team. As part of the vision of the Data Platform Team at Kivra, we are developing an internal platform for analysts and engineers to improve the ease and experience of working with data across the organization. We connect internal and external data sources to make data available for AI, and as part of that vision, we are building a platform where Kivra can work with agents in a better, faster and safer way.
Build and maintain an internal development platform for data tools, services, and workflows
Standardize configurations and workflows
Automate redundant tasks
Ensure compliance (e.g. GDPR) and security across all golden paths
Contribute to, build, and maintain an internal development platform making data available for ai and enabling autonomous agents to work efficiently and securely on a shared infrastructure
Adopt a “platform as a product” approach, treating analysts and engineers as our customers; aim to improve the analyst and engineering experience working with agents, data tools and services, and remove complexity and cognitive load of our customers
Use your knowledge and expertise to work with stakeholders to make data easily accessible and available to product and functional teams in Kivra (this data is used for, amongst others, business intelligence, business development, analytics, reporting and billing). We are responsible for a number of data products and services which we provide to the rest of the organization (e.g. APIs and data integrations)
Build, improve and maintain a resilient and scalable data foundation and infrastructure
As a team, we have full ownership and autonomy over what and how we build our solutions - from idea and design, to implementation and operations. We are responsible for our solutions end-to-end. We believe in and work according to everything-as-code.
You want to join a fun, diverse and friendly team. You are a team player who wants to build good relationships with your colleagues to understand their problems and challenges. You embrace “platform thinking” in your work - and strive to enable and support your colleagues, not block them. You are proactive, entrepreneurial and want to shape this role based on the opportunities you discover. You are curious, collaborative and like solving problems.
Are easy-going, open, curious and bring positive energy to your work and colleagues
Are a team-player, solution oriented and takes ownership of your outcome and tasks
Thrive in a DevOps environment where we take full accountability for our systems.
Have at least 4 years of full-time software engineering development, and an interest in AI, data engineering and platform engineering
Have experience working with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), version control, containerization, and CI/CD (we use Terraform, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions)
Have experience working in a cloud platform - GCP, Azure, or AWS (we use GCP)
Are comfortable with Python and SQL
Are already familiar with, or want to work in the data engineering space (and associated tooling, e.g. Airflow and DBT)
Are familiar with Google Cloud Platform and the tooling there
Have experience with data engineering and data tooling - e.g. Airflow, DBT, cloud data warehouses (we use BigQuery)
This role is full-time and our offices are based in Stockholm. You will be part of the Data Platform Team and report to the Head of Data. Fluency in English is required and fluency in Swedish is a plus but not required. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor new work permits, but are able to sponsor/renew existing work permits!
