Job summary

NSC Global is seeking a Data Centre Field Engineer to join our team in Sweden. The role covers on-site installation, maintenance and support of data centre hardware, networking gear and cabling.

The ideal candidate has 24+ months field experience, strong knowledge of servers, storage, and network components, and excellent communication in English and the local language. A valid driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must have driving licence.
• Proficiency in English and local language (B2 or higher).
• Over 24 months of field experience in data centre environments.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove field replaceable units (e.g., hard drives, memory, line cards, transceivers).
• Rack and stack equipment and perform on-site installations.
• Configure and support connectivity, cabling and network components.
• Monitor devices and perform backups/restores and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues and perform on-site repairs.

Responsibilities

Work Experience: More than 24 months

Sound knowledge of:

• Network and server hardware and components
• Copper and fibre cabling systems
• Equipment racking and stacking (installation)
• Installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers)
• Network monitoring systems and usage
• Device and database backup & restore processes
• Troubleshooting and testing
• Network connectivity
• Out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems

• Leadership and/or team experience
• Participate in the configuration and support of systems.
• Adherence to assigned schedule

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

• Command Line Interface (CLI) commands
• Physical Storage and backup procedures (e.g. tape library systems)
• HVAC and UPS systems
• Active Directory
• Exchange
