Job summary

Leap29 is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a fully remote role within Sweden. You will design, implement, and enhance security controls across cloud, on-premise, and application environments, collaborating with international teams.

With 3+ years in the field, you will monitor incidents, perform vulnerability assessments, support compliance, and help raise the security posture through SIEM, automation, and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in cyber security or security engineering.
• Strong network and endpoint security knowledge.
• Experience securing Azure, AWS, or hybrid clouds.
• Hands-on SIEM with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, or Elastic.
• Familiar with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or NIS2.
• Scripting in PowerShell or Python for automation.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated sectors (FS, manufacturing, tech, critical infrastructure).

Cyber Security Engineer (Remote, Sweden)

About the Role

We're partnering with a rapidly growing organisation that is investing heavily in its cyber security capabilities across the Nordics. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and enhancing security controls across cloud, infrastructure, and application environments.

This is a fully remote position within Sweden, offering the opportunity to work on complex security challenges while collaborating with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
• Support security architecture reviews and risk assessments.
• Enhance security monitoring capabilities through SIEM and detection engineering.
• Develop and improve security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Work closely with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to embed security best practices.
• Support compliance initiatives aligned with industry frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Security Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, and identity management.
• Experience securing Microsoft Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, or Elastic.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and threat detection methodologies.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or NIS2.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience within highly regulated environments such as Financial Services, Manufacturing, Technology, or Critical Infrastructure.
• Relevant certifications including:
