Job summary

Applied Value Group in Stockholm is seeking Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our Stockholm team. From early on you’ll work directly with managers and partners and have your hands in every part of a project: the analysis, the strategy, the client presentations, and the implementation that follows.

You’ll work with entrepreneurial, international clients spanning startups to market leaders, with travel when required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience within management consulting.
• Degrees in Engineering, Business and Economics are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will have a high level of responsibility for gathering company and industry data, interviewing personnel, and developing and implementing key insights and recommendations.
• The Consultant will often be responsible for managing day-to-day scheduling and progress updates to ensure a successful engagement with the client.
• The Consultant, guided by managers, directs research and analysis as well as structuring the project approach, objective, and implementation.
• There’s also a sales side: finding new clients and projects, putting together sales materials, and attending meetings.

We’re hiring Consultants & Senior Consultants to join our Stockholm team.

This isn’t a role where you sit in the analyst seat for two years before anyone lets you near a client. From early on you’ll work directly with managers and partners and have your hands in every part of a project: the analysis, the strategy, the client presentations, and the implementation that follows.

A lot of that comes down to who our clients are. They tend to be more entrepreneurial and more international than what you’d find at a larger firm, and they range from companies just getting off the ground to established market leaders. So the problems vary a lot, and because we stay with clients over the long term, you end up working closely with senior management and industry people rather than parachuting in and out.

The work itself:

In this role, you will have a high level of responsibility for gathering company and industry data, interviewing personnel, and developing and implementing key insights and recommendations. The Consultant will often be responsible for managing day-to-day scheduling and progress updates to ensure a successful engagement with the client. The Consultant, guided by his or her managers, directs research and analysis as well as structure the project approach, objective, and implementation. You are actively involved in the overall direction, quality, and success of the final presentation as well as follow up work that leads to further involvement with the client

There’s also a sales side. Fairly early in your career here, you’ll get involved in finding new clients and projects, putting together sales materials, and sitting in on meetings.

Who we’re looking for:

Someone who can reach their own conclusions but still learn from the people around them. Someone who delivers on time and doesn’t need to be managed closely to do it. We value individuals who can make decisions in a fairly unstructured environment.

Beyond that: leadership, solid business and financial judgment, a commercial instinct, and a willingness to travel when a project calls for it. If you’ve spent time in a start-up, in general management, or in engineering, sales, or marketing, that’s a real plus, though it’s not a dealbreaker. Mostly we care that you’re driven and flexible.
