Job summary

Lyten is seeking a Construction & Installation Technician with a carpentry focus to join our industrial team. You will install, modify, repair and maintain building structures and site utilities in a dynamic production environment.

You will read drawings, ensure safety, and support collaboration with electricians, HVAC and plumbers to install and maintain facility systems. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to Lyten's high standards.

Qualifications

  • Formal education or vocational training in Construction / Carpentry / Building Technology is required.
  • Proven experience in carpentry, construction or installation work.
  • Experience from industrial or large facility environments is a strong advantage.
  • Good ability to read and understand technical and construction drawings.
  • Basic knowledge within HVAC, electrical or plumbing systems is an advantage
  • Valid driver’s license (B)
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and/or English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry and construction work including walls, doors, and platforms.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Support installation of building-related systems (cable trays, ventilation).
  • Maintain safety and comply with regulations (Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, heights).
  • Collaborate with electricians, HVAC, plumbers, and external contractors.
  • Report completed work and deviations in the maintenance system.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of facility and utilities infrastructure.

Job Scope

High level purpose of function.

The Construction & Installation Technician, with a focus on carpentry and construction work, is responsible for the installation, modification, repair and maintenance of building structures and technical components within an industrial and facility environment. The role ensures that construction and carpentry work is performed according to drawings, safety requirements, and applicable standards, while also supporting the operation and development of the site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

  • Perform carpentry and construction work, including:
    • Installation and repair of walls, partitions, ceilings, floors, doors, gates, frames and protective barriers
    • Construction of platforms, walkways, ramps, handrails and safety guards
    • Assembly of temporary and permanent structures in production and utility areas
  • Support installation of building-related systems such as:
    • Cable trays and supports
    • Ventilation components
    • Basic piping and mounting brackets
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Perform repair and adjustment of existing structures, frameworks, and interior building elements.
  • Support facility and utilities projects during new construction, rebuilds, rebuild modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, including internal procedures (Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, etc.).
  • Work closely with electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, automation technicians, and external contractors.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building and site-related assets.
  • Report completed work and deviations in the maintenance or work order system.
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and well-organized workplace according to 5S and internal standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, functionality and efficiency within Facility and Utilities infrastructure.
