Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Purchasing Manager for IM&S (Indirect Material & Services) to establish and lead the Swedish IM&S purchasing structure. The role focuses on building networks, driving synergies, and ensuring compliance across units, collaborating with global category managers and finance.

You will coordinate buyers, strengthen supplier performance, and support stakeholders on sourcing, contracts, and negotiations while leading national KPI reporting and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, economics, or related field.
• >8 years’ experience in strategic sourcing and IM&S procurement.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives in a global matrix.

• Coordinate the internal network of IM&S buyers in Sweden.
• Optimize suppliers’ performance through negotiations, capability development, and performance management.
• Lead sourcing for new IM&S needs with global category managers.
• Ensure adherence to sourcing policies, contracts, and category strategies across IM&S.
• Address compliance issues by establishing and maintaining processes that align with policies and regulations.
• Provide training to ensure process understanding and application.
• Oversee KPI collection and national reporting for IM&S sourcing.

About The Job

As Purchasing Manager for IM&S (Indirect Material & Services) at Alfa Laval Technologies AB, you will establish and lead the IM&S purchasing structure for Swedish sites. This new role focuses on building networks, driving synergies, and ensuring compliance across business units. You will collaborate with global category managers and finance to coordinate purchasing, strengthen supplier performance, and support stakeholders on compliance, sourcing, contracts, and negotiations.

• Coordinate the internal network of IM&S buyers in Sweden.
• Optimize suppliers’ performance through negotiations, capability development, and performance management.
• Lead sourcing for new IM&S needs with global category managers.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, economics, or related field.

• Proactive, self-motivated, and focused on continuous improvement.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to lead sourcing initiatives and deliver measurable results
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, able to influence and educate stakeholders on various levels in a global matrix organization.
• Strong sense of ownership in governance and compliance.
• Skilled in Office package and advantage if familiar with Microsoft Dynamics D365 processes related to purchasing
• Fluent in Swedish and English.
