Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is looking for a Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join its global team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that advanced HVDC systems meet reliability and safety standards through structured testing and quality assurance practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with power systems, especially HVDC.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be involved in the full commissioning lifecycle, applying structured testing, verification, and quality assurance practices to confirm that systems meet their design intent and operate seamlessly once energized. Responsibilities

• Be part of a global team doing testing and startup for HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) converter stations worldwide.
• Work closely with other business functions across projects to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and customer‑specific requirements.
• Oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure they function correctly and deliver the expected results.

• Travel frequently and spend longer periods abroad.

Background

• Hands‑on experience working with power systems (HVDC and substation experience considered an added advantage).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• Good general technical understanding and eagerness to learn more.
• Enthusiastic, determined with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken.
