Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Certification Engineer to lead type approval and homologation for automotive components targeting the Chinese market. You will collaborate with authorities, labs, and OEMs to streamline certification and maintain rigorous documentation for audits.

You will monitor regulatory updates and work with cross-functional teams across R&D, testing, and legal to ensure designs comply with Chinese requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive certifications (CCC, GB, UNECE) and type approvals.
• Ability to liaise with authorities, testing labs and OEMs to streamline certification processes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Certification Engineer, you will:

Compliance and certification of automotive components (mechanical/electrical systems, ECUs, embedded systems) for the Chinese market.

What technologies/standards?

• Core Standards: CCC, MIIT, GB, UNECE, ISO
• Testing Protocols: EMC, environmental, durability tests

Nice to have:

• Fluency in Mandarin (written/spoken)
• Experience with CATARC, 3C Certification, or global OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers in China
