We are looking for a driven Buyer to join a dynamic and innovative environment within the automotive industry. In this role, you will be responsible for direct material procurement, managing supplier relationships and driving sourcing strategies for components used in vehicle production.
You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply security, while contributing to the development of competitive and sustainable supply chains.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement commodity and sourcing strategies for direct materials
- Lead supplier sourcing activities, including RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
- Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and support target setting for your commodity
- Handle supplier negotiations for new programs, engineering changes, and ongoing production
- Ensure supplier capacity, risk management, and supply chain stability
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to align sourcing decisions
- Contribute to product development projects from a procurement perspective
- Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for innovation and value creation
Your profile
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in direct procurement, preferably within the automotive industry
- Degree in Purchasing, Engineering, Business, Economics, or similar
- Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management
- Strong understanding of automotive supply chains and production processes
- Experience working in a cross-functional and international environment
- Good technical understanding of automotive components or systems
Skills & Tools
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with cost breakdowns and sourcing data
- Advanced user of Excel
- Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or similar
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), Swedish is a plus
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
