The role emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and building scalable financial models using IBM Planning Analytics and Looker. Strong Excel skills and fintech interest are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Controller or Financial Analyst.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Experience in budgeting/forecasting and cost control in fast-paced environments.
• Strong proficiency in BI and CPM tools (IBM Planning Analytics, Looker).
• Self-starter with analytical, structured approach and fintech interest.

Responsibilities

• Drive monthly reporting, budgeting, and long-term forecasting across Nordic markets and units.
• Lead cost-control initiatives and establish robust financial governance with department leads.
• Evaluate initiatives and business cases, set up KPIs and follow-up frameworks.
• Proactively identify opportunities to automate and scale financial models and infrastructure.

This is part of the role

As a Business Controller, you will play a strategic and influential role within Nordnet's Finance function. Our focus is to drive high-impact financial analysis, strategic planning, and performance management to maximize business effectiveness and profitability across all of Nordnet's markets and business lines. You will serve as a trusted finance partner to business leaders and executive management, delivering proactive insights, decision support, and both strategic and ad-hoc analysis.

Key responsibilities:

• Holistic Financial Steering & Performance: Drive monthly reporting, budgeting, and long-term forecasting with a 360-degree view on revenues, margins, and operating expenses across all Nordic markets and business units.
• Strategic Cost Control: Lead cost-efficiency initiatives, benchmark cost drivers, and establish robust financial governance together with department leads and procurement.
• Business Partnership & Cases: Evaluate new initiatives, product lines, and business cases, setting up development KPIs and continuous follow-up frameworks.
• Process & Automation Leadership: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance, automate, and scale our financial models and infrastructure.

Primary tools for data analysis include IBM Planning Analytics, Looker and excel.

This is you

You are a data-savvy finance professional who excels at converting complex financial and operational data into actionable business insights. As a member of the team, you lead by example, promoting a data-driven mindset and acting as an internal advisor across different functions. Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities are second nature to you.

In addition, you have:

• Around 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Controller, Financial Analyst or similar
• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in steering budget/forecasting processes and managing cost-control structures in complex, fast-paced environments.
• Strong proficiency in BI and CPM tools (e.g., IBM Planning Analytics, Looker) and relational data structures.
• A self-starter mindset: highly analytical, structured, and capable of driving initiatives independently from concept to execution.
• A genuine interest in the financial markets and the fintech space.
