Job summary

Purview in Gothenburg, Sweden, is seeking a Business Analyst for Data Products in a hybrid role. You will bridge business stakeholders and data engineering to translate strategic aims into concrete data product requirements and delivery.

You will define success metrics, write user stories, and collaborate with engineers to create scalable data solutions, ensuring business value is realized through careful testing and adoption.

• Partner with stakeholders to uncover business needs and define success metrics.
• Translate requirements into technical specs covering data sources, integration points, data quality, lineage, security and performance.
• Create high-quality user stories with acceptance criteria and manage backlog in JIRA and AirFocus with Product Owner.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design pragmatic, scalable data solutions.
• Map current and future-state data flows to clarify complex processes.
• Support testing, UAT and change adoption to realise intended value.
• Act as a clear communication link between business and technical teams.

You will be the vital bridge between our business stakeholders and data engineering teams, translating strategic ambitions into clear, actionable requirements that enable the design, build, and deployment of impactful

What You'll Do

• Partner with stakeholders to uncover business needs, define success metrics, and articulate the value each data initiative will deliver.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications covering data sources, integration points, data quality, lineage, security, and performance expectations.
• Author high-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria, managing the backlog in JIRA and AirFocus alongside the Product Owner.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to shape pragmatic, scalable solutions, challenging designs where needed to protect business intent.
• Map current and future-state processes and data flows, making the complex easy to understand.
• Support testing, UAT, and change adoption to ensure delivered products realise their intended value.
• Act as the trusted communication link between business and technical teams, resolving ambiguity with pace and clarity.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proven experience deploying business analysis techniques to drive business change.
• Hands-on Agile delivery experience, including user stories, JIRA, and AirFocus.
• End-to-end experience with Data Products, from integration through to support.
• Confidence asking incisive technical questions (data models, APIs, integration patterns, data quality) and capturing answers as clear requirements.
• Familiarity with core data concepts such as ETL/ELT, raw data, data transformation and curation.
• Experience working across complex integrated systems and global, virtual teams.
• Understanding of regulated environments (e.g., GxP, data privacy).
