Job summary

Learnster in Sweden is seeking a Backend & Platform Engineer to help build AI-driven software solutions. You will own the full development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, while building backend services and APIs using Python and Django.

The ideal candidate has strong AWS experience, is proficient with CI/CD pipelines, and has skills in container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. This role offers opportunities for growth in a fast-scaling environment focused on AI technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend engineering with Python, ideally Django.
• Skilled with both relational and non-relational databases; able to write efficient SQL queries.
• Solid experience designing, deploying, and maintaining solutions in AWS.
• Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining modern continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Proficiency with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Strong experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes in production environments.
• Integrate AI-assisted coding, infrastructure automation, or other AI-powered tools.

What You’ll Do

• Own the full development lifecycle: from ideation and design to coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Build backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Design, operate, and optimize infrastructure in AWS, using both managed services and cloud-agnostic tools.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable releases.
• Manage infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Work with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar) for deployment and scaling.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to create innovative solutions.
• Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate development, automate workflows, troubleshoot issues, and learn new skills.
