Job summary

Findity is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our Platform & Security team. You will help build and maintain secure, scalable backend services that powers our expense platform and partners.

You will own day-to-day development within a Scrum team, design robust APIs, work with databases, and collaborate with product managers and QA to deliver high-quality solutions. A background in Java and modern backend architectures is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java or similar backend languages.
• Academic background in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data modelling.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows.
• Good understanding of backend systems, APIs and scalable service architectures.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.

• Take ownership of day-to-day development within a fast-moving Scrum team.
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and reliable backend services and platform capabilities.
• Improve and evolve our core infrastructure, with a focus on performance, stability and security.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the long-term direction of our platform.
• Build and maintain foundational capabilities that enable other Scrum teams to develop and deliver new features to our users.

The role

We are now looking for a skilled, driven and experienced Backend Developer to join our team. Working behind the scenes, our backend developers have a significant impact not only on our business success, but also on the success of our partners.

Our department is organised into seven small, fast‑moving Scrum teams, each with a clear focus and high degree of ownership. We are currently looking for someone to join our Platform & Security team, where you will help build and maintain the foundations that keep our platform secure, scalable and reliable.

Who you are

• You have a strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns
• At least 3 years of experience in Java or similar backend languages
• Academic background in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data modelling
• Experience with Git‑based version control and collaborative workflows
• Good understanding of backend systems, APIs and scalable service architectures
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or similar) to improve productivity
• Hands‑on and proactive, with the ability to take on complex challenges
• Curious, with a drive to learn and grow
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills
