Job summary

Findity is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our Platform & Security team, building the foundations that keep our expense platform secure, scalable and reliable.

You will own day-to-day development in a fast-moving Scrum environment, design and maintain backend services, and collaborate with product, QA and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in Java or similar backend languages.
• Academic background in a relevant technical field.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modelling.
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows.
• Good understanding of backend systems, APIs and scalable service architectures.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Hands-on and proactive with the ability to tackle complex challenges.
• Curious with a drive to learn and grow, able to work independently or in a team.

The role

We are now looking for a skilled, driven and experienced Backend Developer to join our team. Working behind the scenes, our backend developers have a significant impact not only on our business success, but also on the success of our partners.

Our department is organised into seven small, fast-moving Scrum teams, each with a clear focus and high degree of ownership. We are currently looking for someone to join our Platform & Security team, where you will help build and maintain the foundations that keep our platform secure, scalable and reliable.

What You Will Do

• Take ownership of day-to-day development within a fast-moving Scrum team.
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and reliable backend services and platform capabilities.
• Improve and evolve our core infrastructure, with a focus on performance, stability and security.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, QA and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the long-term direction of our platform.
• Build and maintain foundational capabilities that enable other Scrum teams to develop and deliver new features to our users.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply them where they add real value.

Who you are

• You have a strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns
• At least 3 years of experience in Java or similar backend languages
• Academic background in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data modelling
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows
• Good understanding of backend systems, APIs and scalable service architectures
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or similar) to improve productivity
• Hands-on and proactive, with the ability to take on complex challenges
• Curious, with a drive to learn and grow
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills
