Contract Position
Our client is seeking a talented and passionate Junior Interior Component Designer to join their Interior Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of high-quality interior components that help define the next generation automotive user experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating tactile, visually refined, and production-feasible interior components that contribute to a cohesive and emotionally engaging cabin environment.
Working at the intersection of design, engineering, and user experience, you will translate design intent into detailed, production-ready solutions, ensuring every component reflects progressive, human-centric design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality automotive interior components from concept to production.
- Translate creative design intent into detailed, manufacturable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, UX, and manufacturing teams.
- Create compelling sketches, visualisations, and presentations to communicate design ideas.
- Support the development of innovative interior experiences through thoughtful component design.
- Ensure designs meet ergonomic, aesthetic, functional, and manufacturing requirements.
- Contribute to the selection and application of materials, finishes, and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to deliver production-ready component designs.
- Strong sketching, rendering, and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Alias, Blender, Photoshop, and VRED.
- Understanding of ergonomics, materials, manufacturing processes, and automotive design principles.
- Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, quality, and production feasibility.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
