Job summary

Mpya Sci & Tech AB in Gothenburg is seeking a Diagnostics Design & Verification Engineer to shape system reliability, safety, and serviceability across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with system architects, embedded engineers, and product owners to design, implement, and verify state-of-the-art diagnostic solutions for automotive applications, working hands-on with test rigs and real vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience as a System Design Engineer collaborating with electrical engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems lifecycle.
• Hands-on embedded software and hardware design.
• Strong knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, XCP.
• Experience with HIL testing environments.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze code.
• Experience with vehicle and test-rig diagnostics and measurement.
• Proficiency with Python, Excel, Wireshark, DLT Viewer.
• Familiarity with Linux/WSL.
• Driving license (Swedish B-category).

Responsibilities

• Analyze system architectures to identify failure modes and diagnostic needs.
• Define diagnostic concepts, monitoring strategies, and mitigation mechanisms.
• Develop DTCs and UDS services specifications, including Vector BSW.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14229, SAE J2012, SAE 1979.
• Design, implement, and execute diagnostic tests for embedded systems.
• Maintain diagnostic databases for manufacturing and aftermarket stakeholders.
• Perform hands-on vehicle and rig testing, including fault injection.
• Monitor and support the organization’s test strategy.
• Conduct system-level verification to meet diagnostic performance.
