Nederman's Operational Technology Center in Helsingborg seeks a Senior Automation Lead to be the organisation's primary automation expert, shaping control systems and automation platforms across the product portfolio. The global Operational Technology Center (OTC) at Nederman is dedicated to advancing cross-product platform solutions that bridge the gap between traditional industrial equipment and modern digital technologies. Our focus lies in developing new ways of controlling our equipment to improve performance, reduce costs, and reduce their environmental footprint. Data is systematically collected through our fleet of connected devices, aiding our ongoing development initiatives, and delivering valuable insights. The objective is to build highly integrated digital platforms to create products and solutions that only Nederman – The Clean Air Company can offer. We are now looking for a Senior Automation Lead to be the organization's primary automation expert and help shape what comes next.

About the role

As Senior Automation Lead, you will be the technical leader and strategic driver for automation at Nederman's Operational Technology Center (OTC). You will shape the future of our control systems and automation platforms, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions across our product portfolio. As the organization's foremost automation expert, you will provide technical direction, establish engineering standards, and guide key architectural decisions. A significant part of your role will be fostering technical excellence within the automation team through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing. You will help build a strong automation capability that supports current product development and future innovation. While your primary focus will be automation and control systems, you will work closely with colleagues in software development, electronics, product management, and other engineering teams to ensure successful integration and alignment across solutions. This is a technical leadership role without formal personnel responsibility based on-site in Helsingborg.

Profile and experience

To be successful in this role you need

• At least 8 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or Operational Technology, with several years in a senior technical role.
• Deep expertise in industrial automation and control systems, including automation architecture, PLC-based control systems, industrial communication, HMI solutions, functional safety, and the development of robust, scalable automation platforms.
• Being comfortable making architectural decisions and balancing immediate product needs with long-term technical strategy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English
• Swedish citizenship. The position is security-classified and requires security vetting, including a background check.

Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing engineering direction and working with stakeholders and requirements is highly valued. Experience with Schneider EAE or IEC 61499 is an advantage but not required.
