Job summary

Lyten AB in Skellefteå, Sweden is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain automated production systems for battery cell manufacturing. You will program, troubleshoot, and improve PLCs, robotics, and connectivity to ensure safe, reliable operations.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams on process improvements, data transfer, and digital integration, with a strong emphasis on safety, scalability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Robotics, Software Engineering or similar.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial automation in battery cell, automotive, chemical, pharma, or related industries.
Experience with PLC, SCADA, OPC connectivity and MES interfaces, especially Siemens/Beckhoff.
Experience with sensors, instrumentation, servo drives and motion technology.
Experience with industrial communication protocols and network architecture including PLC code delivery.

Responsibilities

Participate in HAZOP sessions and ensure compliance with safety standards relating to equipment control and programming.
Lead automation system integration during equipment commissioning.
Develop automation systems for production and logistics equipment and their documentation.
Author and review engineering design documentation and test records.
Train and mentor new engineers to spread process control knowledge.
Code review and testing of supplier work to validate functionality and data transfer.
