Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and implement control system solutions for industrial applications. You will program PLC/DCS/RTU and IPC/HMI, configure networks, and provide technical support to customers and internal teams.

You will participate in FAT/SAT, assist with commissioning, and contribute to project delivery while mentoring junior engineers. Strong English communication is required, and a collaborative mindset is valued.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or similar environments.
  • Experience in project-based environments from concept to commissioning.
  • Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and IEC 61439.

Responsibilities

  • Design control system solutions based on customer requirements and project specs.
  • Program and configure PLC, DCS, RTU, IPC, HMI, and related systems.
  • Configure industrial networks and redundancy concepts (IEC 61850, Modbus, Profinet, CANopen, OPC UA).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers and service teams.
  • Lead testing activities, FAT/SAT, and supplier evaluations as needed.

You will work with function design, process control, PLC/HMI programming, and industrial communication networks.
