Job summary

Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner delivering turnkey solutions across Europe, headquartered in Dublin. We are seeking an Authorised Person to join our Skelleftea, Sweden project.

The role engages early with Site Management, ensures compliance with Electrical Safe Systems of Work, issues permits for energised work, and supports commissioning activities on MV/HV systems within data centre projects.

Qualifications

• 3rd level electrical/ Building Services certificates or trade qualification.
• 5+ years in electrical contracting on commercial/industrial/data centre projects.
• MV/HV systems experience; authorised/appointed person background.
• Preferably S1/S2 up to 1000V capability.
• Electrical testing and verification experience (min 3 years).
• HV switching tickets held.

Responsibilities

• Engage early with Site Management on Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
• Issue and control permits for energised work.
• Review project specs/drawings to extract requirements.
• Follow procedures and high voltage safety rules.
• Interpret basic electrical protection under fault conditions.
• Complete safety documents and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Review switchgear topology and controls pre-start.
• Support commissioning with testing contractors and handover with controls providers.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are pleased to announce we are currently seeking an Authorised Person to join our expanding team in Skelleftea Sweden.

• Engages from early in the project with Site Management team with the agreed Electrical Safe Systems of Work Procedure under the instruction from the Lead Appointed Person

• Ensures all Workplace personnel are aware of and are complying with the Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
• Issues and controls Permits for all Energised working activities under scope of work.
• To review and understand project specifications and drawings fully and extract the project specific requirements.
• Follow Strict Operational Procedures and Adhere to High Voltage Safety Rules.
• Interpretation of basic electrical protection under fault conditions.
• Completes Safety documents and lock out/tag out procedures and philosophies.
• Carry out review of Switchgear Distribution Topology and Controls prior to start-up.
• Support / liaise with specialist Testing & Commissioning contractors to carry out early reviews and agree commissioning sequences and test scripts.
• Liaise with Control System providers (Scada/BMS/EMS etc.) in the development of the system handover under permit control schedule and protocols.

Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant 3rd level certificates in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or an Electrical Trade with relevant training and experience

• Minimum of 5+ Years’ experience in a similar role within an electrical contracting environment, experienced in Commercial, Industrial, pharma, data centre type projects.
• Experience of working on MV/HV systems. ‘Authorised Person or Appointed Person’ experience.
• Preferably level S1 i.e. able to work on any voltage or S2 which is up to 1000V
• Electrical Testing & Verification with min 3 years’ experience.
• HV Switching Tickets
• Process driven and focuses on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes.
