Job summary

The European Investment Bank seeks an Associate Sector Specialist – Critical Raw Materials in Luxembourg. You will support due diligence and appraisal of mining, metals refining and related process industries, assessing technical, environmental, social, financial and economic viability.

You will work with senior experts across INCO/SCPI and across EIB services. Reporting to the Head of Division, you will contribute to investment analyses, sector and policy papers, and stakeholder engagement with

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree in engineering, science, economics, or finance.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in minerals, metals, or process industries.
Strong analytical and reporting skills with data-driven conclusions.
Excellent English and French, with good command of the other.
Ability to communicate and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Contribute to technical, economic and financial assessment of projects.
Evaluate sustainability and alignment with EIB standards and policy.
Support origination and screening of investment opportunities.
Appraise projects, identify risks, and contribute to evidence-based conclusions.
Prepare appraisal reports and final documents for governing bodies.
