Assistant Professor in Environmental Medicine

Karolinska Institutet (KI) invites early‑career researchers to join the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) as Assistant Professors. The six‑year appointment is supported by a funding package of 12 MSEK to cover salary and research costs. Successful candidates may be promoted to permanent Senior Lecturer.

Your mission

Develop independent research activity focused on environmental determinants of human health, using epidemiological and/or experimental methods. Lead a research group, supervise students and post‑docs, and contribute to teaching and academic service.

Eligibility requirements

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field
• At least two peer‑reviewed first or last author publications in addition to the doctoral thesis
• Ph.D. awarded no more than seven years prior to the application deadline (special circumstances for deductible time may be considered)
• Documented experience in research environments outside KI, with international experience considered favorably
• Ongoing research in environmental medicine, with first/last author publications in experimental or epidemiological studies
