Job summary

Cytiva, based in Uppsala, Sweden, seeks an AI Expert to accelerate AI-driven development across R&D. You will bridge hardware, systems, and embedded teams, shaping how AI is applied to product development, testing, and engineering workflows. Fluency in Swedish and English is required.

You will lead initiatives, develop AI prototypes, and mentor teams to turn emerging AI technologies into tangible value for Cytiva's life science tools and solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Several years of software development, systems engineering, or technical product development.
• Proven experience with AI, Generative AI, ML, or AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong ability to translate AI into practical value for product development and engineering workflows.
• Experience with communicating complex technical concepts clearly in English and Swedish.

Responsibilities

• Drive and coordinate AI initiatives across Hardware, Systems, and Embedded organizations.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities where AI can create business and engineering value.
• Support development teams with AI-based methods, tools, and ways of working.
• Identify and drive AI-based improvements across all aspects of product development, focusing on efficiency, quality, and innovation in hardware development.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the value of new AI solutions.
• Collaborate with technical experts, architects, and leaders to integrate AI into development processes and products.
• Monitor developments within the AI landscape and translate opportunities into concrete initiatives.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and coach development teams in AI tools and methodologies.
• Contribute to strategic decisions regarding AI platforms, tools, and future investments.
• Act as an internal competence leader and mentor within the AI domain.

We are now looking for an AI Expert to help accelerate technological development within R&D in Uppsala.

You will be part of our Embedded Software organization while working broadly across the Hardware and Systems organizations to identify, drive, and implement AI-based solutions that strengthen our development capabilities.

In this role, you are expected to combine deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset. You will act as an internal AI expert and advisor, supporting development teams in their daily work while leading initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and innovation through the application of modern AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Who Are You?

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or technical product development.
• Proven experience working with AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, or AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong understanding of how AI can be applied in product development, testing, documentation, and engineering workflows.
• Experience with Python, AI frameworks, or modern AI platforms is considered an advantage.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and educational manner.
• Strong drive to turn new ideas into practical value.
• Experience in building engagement, creating alignment, and leading change within engineering organizations is considered an advantage, as the role involves supporting and driving the organization's AI transformation journey.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
