Job summary

Ericsson Research invites a senior AI/ML researcher to shape the future of radio access networks with AI-native systems. You will lead initiatives, design algorithms, and translate research into prototypes, publications, patents, and standards contributions.

The role requires a PhD with 3+ years post-PhD experience, deep AI/ML expertise, and strong Python/JAX/PyTorch skills. Collaboration with global teams and external partners is expected.

Qualifications

• A PhD in AI, data science, computer science, engineering physics, robotics, or a closely related field.
• Typically 3+ years of relevant research experience beyond your PhD, with leadership and publications or patents.
• Deep knowledge of modern AI/ML (deep learning, reinforcement, probabilistic modelling, etc.).
• Strong programming in Python, Java, or C++, with experience in ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Set research direction and lead AI/ML initiatives for future radio access networks.
• Architect algorithms, models, and simulation frameworks for AI-native systems.
• Drive research from concept to prototypes, publications, patents, and standards contributions.
• Lead and mentor researchers, translate goals into actionable plans, present findings to leaders and partners.
