Job description

\"We energize society\" by supporting our customers to make the transition to a more sustainable world, based on innovative technologies and our ability to turn ideas into reality. With nearly 100,000 employees around the world, we shape the energy systems of today and tomorrow.

Join our R&D team as an Aerodynamics Engineer and help shape the future of energy technology by designing highly efficient and reliable turbomachinery components. You will drive innovation in compressor aerodynamics, contributing throughout the entire development process- from initial concept and CFD simulations to validation and long-term product support. Every day, you will deliver solutions that enhance performance and sustainability, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of efficiency and robustness. Step into a role where your work directly impacts the energy transition and the reliability of tomorrow's power generation.

How You will Make an Impact

  • Contribute to the aerodynamic design of high-performance turbomachinery compressors using advanced numerical tools, including both in-house and commercial software.

  • Perform CFD calculations and analyses on compressors and related components, such as intake houses, flow cavities, and bearing houses, utilizing tools like ANSYS CFX, StarCCM+ and TRACE.

  • Implement and develop optimization tools and new methods to enhance R&D efficiency in line with Siemens Energy's vision.

  • Build a local and global network by collaborating with colleagues across Europe, North America, and Asia, and work closely with teams in Aero mechanics, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Integrity, Test, and Manufacturing.

What You Bring

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.

  • You have knowledge and interest in fluid dynamics, both theoretical and experimental, mathematics, and programming as well as an experimental background.

  • You are highly motivated, passionate, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset.

  • You thrive in a collaborative team environment and actively contribute to team effectiveness.

  • Experience in turbomachinery and Swedish language skills are a plus; advanced English proficiency is required.

About the Team

You will join a diverse R&D Compressor group of, more than, 20 skilled engineers specializing in aeromechanics, aerodynamics, mechanical integrity, structural dynamics, and rotor dynamics. Our team is dedicated to advancing compressor technology in a supportive, collaborative environment. Based in Finspång, we are recognized for our expertise and commitment to continuous development, always challenging ourselves and each other to stay at the forefront of innovation. As part of the Gas Services division, we deliver high-performance, low-emission power generation through advanced gas turbine technology. By driving decarbonization and modernization, we energize society and accelerate the global energy transition.

Gas Services division

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

We can offer you employment benefits such as: reduction of working hours, advance vacation, health care allowance and an eventual possibility to a flexible working place.
