Job summary

Scania is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team and deliver accurate financial reporting. As Unit Accounting Responsible for Scania R&D, you will perform journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close, ensuring IFRS and Swedish GAAP compliance.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, support financial control processes, and drive continuous improvements in a dynamic, international environment. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance.
• 3-4 years of accounting/financial reporting experience.
• Experience with IFRS and Swedish GAAP reporting.
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and month-end close.
• Consolidate, analyze, and report financial data in compliance with IFRS and Swedish GAAP.
• Prepare financial reports, trial balances, and support statutory and management reporting.

Role Summary

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team and contribute to delivering accurate, compliant, and high-quality financial reporting. As Unit Accounting Responsible for Scania R&D, you will be responsible for professional accounting activities including financial analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and Swedish GAAP. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization, supporting financial control processes and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and structured professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform professional accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and month-end closing processes.
• Compile, consolidate, analyze, and report financial data while ensuring compliance with IFRS, Swedish GAAP, and internal policies.
• Prepare financial reports, trial balances, and support statutory and management reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide financial guidance to internal stakeholders, resolving accounting-related queries when needed.
• Contribute to financial control, operational compliance, process improvements, and data management activities while supporting ongoing projects and business initiatives.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3-4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a similar finance role.
• Experience in reporting in accordance with IFRS and Swedish GAAP.
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive continuous improvement in processes and ways of working.
• A collaborative team player with a structured and detail-oriented approach, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
