Job summary

MBRF offers a challenging role for a Mechanical Technician in Jeddah, performing mechanical repair, refurbishment, welding and fabrication for machinery and equipment. You will operate machine shop equipment, read P&IDs and engineering drawings, and support maintenance with a focus on safety and food-grade standards.

The ideal candidate holds a technical diploma in mechanical trades, at least 3 years of hands-on experience in machine shops and welding, and is based in or willing to relocate to

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Trade or related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in machine shop and maintenance.
• Experience with arc welding, gas welding, and TIG welding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repair, refurbishment, modification, welding and fabrication on machinery and equipment.
• Operate lathe, milling, shaper, planer, drill press, grinders, and band saw.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance per standards and procedures.
• Inspect workshop equipment and spare parts to ensure good condition.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• Support maintenance team to improve equipment reliability and safety compliance.

What will you be doing at MBRF?

• Perform mechanical repair, refurbishment, modification, welding and fabrication activities for machinery and equipment
• Operate machine shop equipment such as lathe, milling machine, shaper, planer, drill press, grinders and band saw
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established maintenance standards and procedures
• Inspect and maintain workshop equipment, special tools and spare equipment in good working condition
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability activities together with the Maintenance team
• Ensure proper workshop housekeeping and comply with HSE, GMP, 5S, HACCP and food safety requirements

What kind of profile are we looking for?

• Technical diploma/certificate in Mechanical Trade, Turning, Welding or a related technical field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine shop, welding and mechanical maintenance activities, preferably within Food/FMCG or a similar industrial environment
• Hands-on experience in arc welding, gas welding and argon/TIG welding
• Experience operating lathe, milling, drilling, grinding and other machine shop equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical components, drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and lubrication
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
• Basic knowledge of SAP and MS Office is an advantage
• Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate
