Job Title : West Gulf, Financial Controller Manager

Location : Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

About the role :

The Financial Controller, WG, will be responsible for managing accounting matters, ensuring the accuracy of IFRS & management reporting, statutory accounting, and compliance with SOX (where relevant), along with maintaining proper controls. This role will also coordinate with Takeda Business Solutions (TBS) team to ensure countries in the EAMEA Area comply with TBS ways of working.

The incumbents will manage operational accounting and audit processes for multiple workstreams related to revenues, distributor relationships & contract management, Opex, internal/external audits, and maintaining proper financial controls and guidelines. They should act as business partners, coordinating with operational functions to ensure compliance with Takeda Policies and fostering communication between LOC & TBS.

Additionally, incumbents will consolidate revenue & Opex data analysis monthly to ensure proper and compliant accounting treatment of transactions.

How you will contribute :

Key accountabilities

Ensure controls on revenue booking by managing the monthly closing of West Gulf Countries' financials:

  • Manage relationships with West Gulf distributors regarding all financial matters.
  • Oversee the G2N process and liaise with internal/external auditors.
  • Support setting commercial terms beneficial to the company (payment terms, expiry, inventory, etc.).
  • Assist in contract revisions, amendments, and new contracts (STARS).
  • Handle complex customer processes and issues, working with finance & global treasury teams.
  • Oversee accounts receivables, mitigating collection risks, unapplied cash, and bad debts.
  • Lead credit limit management and order releases to ensure steady product supply while safeguarding financials.
  • Manage month-end revenue closing, ensuring proper accruals and controls on distributor claims.
  • Lead quarterly calls with controllers from all legal entities and GEM to discuss AR status and impacts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure policy compliance, process management, and dispute resolution.
  • Work with accounting teams to ensure controls follow company policies.

Ensure controls on OPEX booking through monthly financial close management:

  • Oversee accounting and finance processes (treasury, audit, tax, etc.) in coordination with TBS for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform pre-closing reviews of Opex to ensure proper postings.
  • Coordinate with external/internal auditors and government agencies for compliance.
  • Analyze accounting issues, optimizing process flow and controls.
  • Address tax matters considering benefits and exposures.
  • Review Balance Sheet and P&L for accuracy and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely monthly financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll and employee benefits recording.
  • Build relationships with business and TBS to improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, SOX, and internal controls.
  • Support leadership with financial initiatives and projects.
  • Identify and rectify control issues, working with financial controlling leads.
  • Harmonize processes across the EAMEA area as needed.
  • Manage in-scope finance processes for internal audits.

    What you bring to Takeda :

    Required Education and Experience

    • University degree in Finance.
    • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, tax, and auditing.
    • Knowledge of IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley.
    • Experience with SAP & Hyperion System.

    Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills :

    • Degree in Finance or Accounting.
    • At least 8 years of progressive finance experience within an MNC.
    • Experience managing export markets in Middle East and multiple legal entities.
    • Strong background in accounting, controllership, and decision support.
    • Audit experience preferred.
    • Cultural awareness and effective communication skills.
