Job Title: Supervisor, Piping Welding II, I

Reports to: Piping Division Head

Job Grade Code: 8-9

No. of direct reports: N/A

Education: Diploma degree or equivalent qualification.

Professional Qualifications: T-BOSIET and H2S Certifications. 3G, 4G, and 6G/6GR Qualified (ABS/Class Approved Welder). Professional certificate (AWS welding) will be a plus.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Familiar with common welding types such as SMAW, GMAW/MIG, and GTAW/TIG. Experience with electrical/manual tools, process equipment, piping works. Knowledge of inspection standards, safety standards, welding symbols, weld maps, cutting, grinding, gouging operations.

Experience: At least 11-15 years in Offshore Oil and Gas Construction, shipyard/Ship repair Industry.

Languages: Good oral and written communication skills in English.

WORKING RELATIONS

Internal Interactions: Construction Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Production Engineers, QC Personnel

External Interactions: Client, Vendors

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Areas of Accountabilities (list up to 10 prime activities):

  1. Ensure all assigned works are executed safely on time.
  2. Ensure that all technical drawings and documentation, such as WPS and PQR, are followed.
  3. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  4. Ensure a valid work permit (Hot/Cold/Isolation, etc.) is obtained before activities.
  5. Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings, understanding the risks involved.
  6. Perform welding according to specific codes and drawings.
  7. Monitor materials usage to identify and address shortages early.
  8. Follow pre-welding preparations, examine finished welds, and ensure they meet standards.
  9. Inspect equipment and tools, maintaining them to ensure safety.
  10. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) responsibilities.
