A leading consulting firm specializing in management is seeking a Welding Inspector - CSWIP 3.1 for projects in Saudi Arabia. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to quality standards in oil & gas operations, particularly during shutdowns and turnarounds. Location: Saudi Arabia / GCC
Salary: Basic + Food, Accommodation, and Transportation (FAT)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of Inspection Experience in Saudi Arabia/GCC
Industry: Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical / Running Plant / Turnaround / Shutdown
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding inspections for static mechanical equipment in accordance with international standards and client requirements.
Ensure compliance with approved welding procedures, welding codes, and specifications such as ASME Section IX, API 1104, AWS D1.1, and ISO 3834.
Conduct fit-up inspections, visual welding inspections, and dimensional inspections of fabricated components.
Interpret and verify weld maps, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and procedure qualification records (PQR).
Monitor welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Coordinate with NDT personnel for required inspections and review NDT reports for compliance and accuracy.
Maintain documentation and prepare inspection reports, weld logs, and non-conformance reports.
Liaise with clients, QA/QC teams, and fabrication personnel to resolve welding-related issues on-site.
Ensure safe working practices and full compliance with HSE regulations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Mandatory Certification: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector (Issued by TWI, UK).
Strong knowledge and interpretation skills of welding codes and quality standards (ASME, AWS, API).
Hands-on experience with NDT methods and fabrication inspection.
High attention to detail with excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced turnaround and shutdown environments.
Preferred Candidates:
Only candidates with prior experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC will be considered.
Candidates must have a proven track record in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical industries, especially in running plants, shutdowns, or turnaround projects.
