A leading company in Saudi Arabia is looking for a skilled Welding Inspector to oversee quality at petrochemical construction sites. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidates with SABIC approval will have a competitive advantage, and a strong understanding of welding inspection methods and codes is essential.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Welding Inspector to ensure the quality and compliance of welding activities at petrochemical construction sites. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Gulf, particularly in petrochemical plant construction. Candidates with SABIC approval will be given preference.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of welded joints as per project specifications and industry standards.
Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ), and ensure compliance.
Monitor welding processes and ensure adherence to approved procedures and quality requirements.
Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports, and documentation for project audits.
Ensure compliance with SABIC, Aramco, or other client-specific quality standards.
Identify welding defects and advise corrective actions to ensure workmanship quality.
Work closely with construction and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely inspection clearance.
Participate in material receiving inspection for weld consumables and base materials.
Report deviations and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when applicable.
B.E or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Gulf countries within petrochemical construction projects
In-depth knowledge of welding inspection methods, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API)
Certification in welding inspection (such as CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI) is preferred
Familiarity with NDT methods and reports
SABIC approval or prior experience on SABIC projects will be a major advantage
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and welding symbols
