Job description

A Welding Engineer ensures close coordination and implementation to develop Welding Procedure Specification (WPS/WPQR), NDT/DT, Engineering Critical Assessment, Welder Qualification, and performance monitoring. Responsibilities include controlling welding rejection rates, studying and implementing welding techniques, and applying welding equipment utilizing knowledge of production specifications and compliance as Welding Manager, per Client/International Code and Standard.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/B-Tech in Metallurgy & Materials Science
  • Must have CSWIP 3.1

Experiences:

  • Overall 3 to 5 years of experience in Major EPC Oil/Gas and directly involved in EPC projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Focal Point for Welding department at Welding/Project Site
  2. Develop all Proposed Welding Procedure Specifications/WPQR as per Project Requirements.
  3. Develop and Conduct Welders Qualification Test programs
  4. Monitor and Control Weld Rejection Rate of all Projects.
  5. Control Welding Resources (Welders and welding operators)
  6. Monitor and Control Weekly/Cumulative Weld Rejection Rate for ARAMCO projects.
  7. Monitor and Control Weekly/Cumulative Welders Rejection rate for ARAMCO Projects.
  8. Monitor and Control Projects Approved NDT companies, RTFI disagreement.
  9. Select Materials/Line pipe, fittings depending upon their weldability.
  10. MTO evaluation and selection depending upon Project requirements.
  11. Monitor and Develop Hot Tap Packages.
  12. Training and Development Program for Employees.
  13. Work with Corporate Development and other departments to implement the company policies and procedures.
