Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as Structural Steel Fabricator or Welder.
• Preferably with a 2 years International Trade Certificate in any welding technology.
• Solid blueprint interpretation skills drawn from experience.

Job description

• Reviews layouts, blueprints, diagrams or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
• Determines requirement equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
• Checks the correct stencil of the fabricated members.
• Welds components/ materials in flat, vertical or overhead positions based on the Welding specifications and on the company s standards and requirements.
• Records the daily output for submission to the immediate head s monitoring report.
• Achieves and maintains the standard productivity and efficiency in terms of MT /Quantity.
• Practices properly the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, face masks and the like while inside the shop-floor.
• Reports to immediate head any incidences of breakdown for immediate attention.
• Practices 5S and maintains the necessary housekeeping in his area of work to keep it hazard free & safe
• Checks the welding output if it complies with the given specification requirement to avoid possible QC rejection.
• Strictly follows the Welding specifications to ensure that welded materials will yield lesser chance of repair or reworks.
• Clarifies with the immediate head any unclear instructions or details in the process to avoid repetition of work and reduce the non-conformances in the finished product.
• Checks the welding machine s condition daily
• Initiates maintenance request through lead man for timely repair and calibration of the machine.
• Maintains the standard consumption of consumables to reduce the wastage of welding wires in the process.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School or Secondary Graduate, preferably with 2 years International Trade Certificate in any welding technology
• Certificate in AMS are an advantage
• At least 2 years of work experience as Structural Steel Fabricator or Welder in any steel Fabrication company and must have solid blueprint interpretation skills drawn out from experience.
