A leading company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a skilled FCAW Welder. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in welding technology and significant experience in pressure vessel fabrication. Responsibilities include welding tasks in compliance with specifications and safety standards while contributing to efficient work methods.

Qualifications

• 3 years working experience as FCAW welder in the pressure vessels or similar industry.
• Certifications in American Welding Society (AWS) passed with WQT is an advantage.
• Ability to weld horizontally and vertically, familiarity with Flux Cored Arc Welding process.

Responsibilities

• Weld components/materials based on specifications and company standards.
• Record daily output for monitoring and report any equipment breakdown.
• Ensure compliance with safety and welding standards.

Job description

• Reviews shift plan or work orders which issued by foreman or leadman for welding or cutting metal components.
• Determines requirement equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
• Welds components/ materials in flat, vertical positions based on the welding specifications and on the company s standards and requirements.
• Records the daily output for submission to the immediate head s monitoring report.
• Reports to immediate head any incidences of breakdown of welding machine and/ or other equipment for immediate rectification or replacement.
• Initiates kaizen or work improvement inputs to its jobs whenever arises.
• Develops new methods / ways of producing good quality and the faster way of welding as per approval by client and/or immediate supervisor.
• Suggests new tools or equipment efficient for the work.
• Performs 5S and other housekeeping activities to its work areas on a daily basis.
• Ensures that all storages are organized; and tools and supplies are conveniently located.
• Be updated on the Company Policies and Procedures on Safety and Health.
• Observes properly usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, face masks and the like in the shop floor.
• Reports to the immediate head any accident for investigation and corrective solution.
• Ensure that fabrication works are in compliance to the Engineering Drawings specification, and with all applicable fabrication and welding standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure that NCR s are minimum or achieve zero.
• Checks the welding output if it complies with the given specification requirement to avoid possible QC/ QA rejection.
• Strictly follows the AWS codes and standards to ensure that welded jobs have NO or very minimal rejection as per company s quality standard.
• Clarifies with the immediate head any unclear instructions of shift plan to avoid repetition of work.
