JOB DESCRIPTION:
• General fabrication work as and when required using tooling and equipment specific to the trade and adhering to and implementation of all safety procedures applicable to the tooling and equipment.
• Performance of workshop tasks involving;
- Cutting of the various forms of ferrous and non-ferrous materials to the shape and lengths required.
- Welding and shaping of metals using oxygen / acetylene equipment, (or similar gases).
- Welding metals using electric-arc welding equipment.
- Joining of metals using brazing and soldering techniques.
• Repairs to equipment with or without blueprints using fabrication type techniques such as;
- Alignment re/alignment work.
- Designs and fabrication of jigs required.
- Pattern-developments required for fabrication work.
- Alterations to equipment, as required, located and used within the site buildings and facilities.
• Estimation of costs and materials required for completion of designated fabrication tasks.
• Ordering parts / materials and consumable items required for completion of tasks.
• Maintaining an inventory of all materials and tooling within the Fabrication / Welding Shop.
• Care and maintenance of all specialized tools and equipments allocated either as long-term loan or personal issue.
• Adhering to ACGC / Client Tool Control Procedures, as and when required.
• Assisting in the execution of the training program among Saudi Trainees, whenever required.
• Working with limited supervision.
• Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with colleagues.
• Performance of other tasks as delegated by Mechanical Supervisor.
• Authorized to execute tasks as delegated by the Mechanical Supervisor and/or the Site Superintendent.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduate of 2 year Course in Welding Technology or a combination of training and experience equivalent to the required knowledge and abilities. Must be a Certified Welder.
• Minimum 3-years working experience in welding works preferably at heavy industries company.
• May need to possess a valid driver s license.
• Not more than 50 years old.
EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of Tools and methods of the welding trade, including alignment techniques, brazing and soldering techniques, electrical-arc welding techniques and gas welding techniques; Safe working practices required for the usage of items.
