Job description

Overview

The WebMethods Platform Architect is responsible for designing and governing enterprise integration solutions using the Software AG WebMethods suite. This role ensures robust, scalable, and high-performing integration architectures aligned with business and IT strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of integration solutions using WebMethods components (Integration Server, Broker/UM, MWS, Trading Networks, API Gateway, etc.)
• Define integration strategies, design patterns, and governance models.
• Provide architectural guidance on B2B, EDI, API management, and hybrid cloud integration using WebMethods.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and development teams to define integration solutions.
• Drive platform upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Ensure best practices in security, monitoring, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews and ensure compliance with enterprise integration standards.
• Provide technical leadership during complex problem resolution and platform enhancements.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, or platforms to enhance integration capabilities.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of IT experience with at least 6+ years in WebMethods Integration Suite.
• Deep knowledge of Integration Server, Universal Messaging, Trading Networks, API Gateway, My webMethods Server, and Optimize.
• Experience in designing and developing REST/SOAP APIs, EDI/B2B integrations, and cloud connectors.
• Strong knowledge of Pub-Sub architecture, messaging protocols (JMS, AMQP), and integration security (OAuth, SSL, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices in integration projects.
• Experience with performance tuning, clustering, failover, and load balancing in WebMethods.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Software AG WebMethods Certified Professional
• TOGAF or similar architecture framework certification (preferred)
