Job summary

Acwa is seeking a Solid Waste and Sewage Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of waste and sewage treatment systems at a major plant in Saudi Arabia. You will ensure safe, compliant handling and disposal of waste and wastewater, while driving efficiency and cost reductions.

The role requires extensive experience in waste management and wastewater treatment, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with regulators and contractors for on-site activities and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil, Mechanical or related field.
• 10+ years in waste management and sewage treatment operations.
• Minimum 5 years in managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in utilities, industrial plants, municipalities, or large facilities.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (activated sludge, MBR, SBR).

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations management of solid waste collection, segregation, storage, transport and disposal.
• Manage STP operations including biological, chemical, and mechanical processes.
• Ensure uninterrupted operation of pumps, aeration systems, clarifiers, sludge handling and treatment units.
• Monitor plant performance parameters and ensure discharge standards compliance.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans; coordinate shutdowns and upgrades.
• Coordinate with regulators during inspections and maintain documentation.
