As a Warehouse and Yard Supervisor, you will execute standard processes and procedures for warehouse and yard activities, including receiving, storage, yard management, and related operations.
Responsibilities
- Leading, coordinating or overseeing warehouse and logistics operations, focusing on productivity and process quality.
- Managing multiple warehouses to meet customer requirements, including providing scope to contract labor workforce in warehouse.
- Driving cost reduction while meeting customer and safety requirements.
- Ensuring that warehouse management procedures are followed consistently.
- Achieving WH & Yard KPIs set by the WH & Yard Region and Global.
- Providing materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services, supervising staff.
- Maintaining, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Safeguarding warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Completing warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
- Maintaining warehouse staff job results by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring efficient delivery of goods, supervising staff, and securing the warehouse.
- Scheduling, reconciliation and timely completion of cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
- Controlling inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring timely transactions.
- Tracking shipments and overseeing inventory audits.
- Complying with local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Completing cycle counts and annual physical inventory in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED).
- At least 4 years of previous supervision experience in warehouse and yard services.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Flexibility to travel within the country.
