Job description

The general role of the Milling Operator [VMC Machine Operator] is to measure each component to ensure proper fit in the final design and to identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before production.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

1. Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines; maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.
2. Program operating three-axis machines (X, Y, Z).
3. Create programs using Master CAM or other software.
4. Operate Fanuc & Siemens controls.
5. Possess knowledge of VMC Machines (3-axis & 4-Axis).
6. Troubleshoot VMC machines for daily minor issues.
7. Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operation.
8. Measure components to ensure proper fit.
9. Inspect finished products against requirements.
10. Understand machine specifications and drawings to identify potential problems before production.
11. Manufacture and assemble metal components for tools, machinery, and parts.
12. Ensure safe operation of machines without damage.
13. Take accurate measurements.

Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Stress resistant.
• Good verbal communication skills in English (desirable).

Creative, critical, and curious.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a plant environment and accessing elevated platforms.
• Communicate effectively with clarity of speech and hearing.
• Maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Wear safety equipment as required.
• Possess personal mobility and reflexes to perform duties and travel as needed.
