Job Title: Venture Capital Investment & Operations Director

About the Firm: Our client is the venture capital arm of a leading investment bank in Riyadh, dedicated to identifying and investing in high-growth startups across key sectors. The firm focuses on early- to growth-stage investments, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

Role Overview: The Director will be responsible for leading investment strategies, sourcing and managing deals, and overseeing the operational aspects of the VC firm. This is a senior leadership role requiring a blend of investment expertise, strategic oversight, and operational excellence to ensure the smooth running of the firm’s activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Investment & Portfolio Management: Lead the development and execution of the firm’s investment strategy, aligning with overall business objectives. Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in high-potential startups. Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and risk assessments for prospective investments. Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry stakeholders. Oversee portfolio management, providing strategic support and guidance to portfolio companies. Lead exit planning and execution strategies for investments.
  2. Operations & Firm Management: Oversee the daily operations of the VC firm, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement best practices in fund governance, reporting, and financial management. Develop and refine internal processes for deal sourcing, investment execution, and portfolio monitoring. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities. Manage relationships with LPs, institutional investors, and key stakeholders.
  3. Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic leadership to the VC team, fostering a high-performance culture. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Drive innovation and thought leadership in venture capital investment within the region.
Key Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
  2. Proven track record of sourcing, executing, and managing venture capital investments.
  3. Strong financial acumen, with expertise in due diligence, valuations, and portfolio management.
  4. Experience in managing operational functions within a financial institution or investment firm.
  5. In-depth understanding of the startup ecosystem and emerging industry trends.
  6. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  7. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks within Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC region is a plus.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
